Boone Watershed Partnership Sponsors Photo Contest

Boone Watershed Partnership, a local nonprofit group that works to protect and clean up natural waters in the roughly 600+ square miles of the watershed that feeds into Boone Lake, is sponsoring a photo contest. In order to highlight the natural beauty of this area, photographs must be taken within the Boone Reservoir Watershed including around Boone Lake itself or other tributaries within the watershed, i.e. Beaver Creek, Watauga River, and Brush Creek. Categories include waterscape scenes and people involved in outdoor water activities within the watershed. Photos may be either black and white or color.

The contest is being held from March 1-28, 2014. Winners will be announced March 29, 2014. Photographs winning Best of Show in the waterscape and in the people categories will each receive a $100 prize. Photographs will be displayed at the Natural History Museum in Gray, TN during the month of April, 2014. In addition, they will be featured on BWP t-shirts, notecards and other promotional materials in order to increase public awareness about BWP, the natural resources within our watershed and to promote the group’s educational outreach programs and stream remediation projects.
