WORKSHOP PRESENTATION--May 3-4--Knoxville

From Larry Perry in Knoxville -

This program could be the highlight of the year for area photographers. If you haven't already signed up for the Saturday program time is limited and you should do so NOW!

Winston Hall is an incredible teacher...just look at what some of the local photographers say about him:

Bob Turney: In the last number of years I have attended numerous Workshops with Winston Hall.  Outstanding Photographer, Outstanding Teacher, and a really fun person to be with! I am pretty choosy who I listen to when it comes to photography and I can easily say that Winston is one of the best instructors I have heard. I guarantee you will learn a lot regardless of your skill level. I plan to be there to learn more!!!

Jack Goodwin: Winston's workshops are a lot of fun, and very insightful.  Here's a tip I picked up during his Slot Canyon Workshop two years ago.  I was struggling with the problem of capturing a bit of blue sky peaking through the depths of a canyon.  I was bracketing exposures from -3 stops to +3 stops for HDR.  Because the meter was seeing a lot of dark canyon and very little sky, the sky was clipping, even at -3 stops.  Winston suggested using exposure compensation together with bracketing.  That shifted the bracketing range to be from -4 stops to +2 stops, enough to bring the sky into range while still opening shadows sufficiently to give good results when the images were combined.C an't wait to see what I learn next week from Winston!

Mike Boniol (Crossville):
I have attended several photography workshops by Winston Hall including photographing lighthouses in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Lightroom, and one on my Nikon camera. He is outstanding and I rate him as one of the top photographers and photo teachers in the country. He will conduct an outstanding workshop for SANP and I will be attending!

SANP is pleased to announce that veteran nature photographer Winston Hall will be presenting a workshop weekend for us on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 & 4, 2014.  Each day will be a distinctly different workshop.

WATCH THIS VIDEO ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

When:
Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4
Where: Goins Auditorium Pellissippi State College, Knoxville, TN
Cost:  $75 for SANP members, $90 for non-members  (Saturday)
($75 Sunday for SANP members only 2 places left)
Who: Everyone is invited to attend

On Saturday, May 3 Winston will be presenting a classroom workshop entitled "Understanding, Describing, and Creating with Light" in the Goins Auditorium at Pellissippi State Technical Community College.  Unlike most classroom workshops, this workshop will include some hands-on photography throughout the day, so be sure to bring your camera gear ready to shoot.  This workshop is limited to 150 people (capacity of Goins Auditorium).   Cost for the Saturday workshop is $75 for SANP members and $90 for non-members, and includes lunch at the PSTCC cafeteria. A one-year SANP membership is also included in the non-members registration.
The difference between a mediocre photographer and a great photographer is being able to see light as an Artist! Here are few
things you will learn from Winston:

Key Light Concepts
         Light and Form
         Three ways to express light
         The Four Characteristics of Light
          Expression with color and tone
          The Basic of visual design
          SITE exposure model light!

It's worthwhile paying attention to because you are going to get
Some stunning results...

You all just gotta go to hear this special photographer!

To register for this workshop please complete the registration form by emailing Bub Turney at  mcpolcat@att.net  and request form.  Checks should be made payable to "SANP".  Please mail your registration form and check to
Bob Turney at 200 Skyview Drive, Lenoir City, TN 37772 or call at 865-988-9717.  He will confirm your registration.
NOTE:
Winston Hall is one of the best photography instructors in the country
and this a rare chance for those east of the Mississippi to learn from him. This should be MUST ATTEND program for you!~  Larry
