Camera Club Outing Saturday July 7 - Morril's Cave

Now here's a new adventure for Eastman Camera Club members.  This Saturday we will be going to Morril’s Cave State Natural Area.  It has more than 37,000 feet of mapped passages on two levels. Morril’s Cave is commonly called Worley’s Cave locally and is known for its voluminous size with rooms more than 75 feet wide and 250 feet long with high ceilings that often exceeds 100 feet. It is noted for its beautiful formations within its eight to ten miles of passages. The lower level of the cave contains a perennial creek complete with various fishes, white crayfish, and salamanders.

We will meet at the Colonial Heights Ingles parking lot at 8 AM Saturday July 7.  From there we will car pool to the Dollar General on Highway 19E in Bluff City to meet Tony at 9:00 who will be leading our expedition.

The cost is $5 per person.   Good strong flashlight and waterproof hiking boots are a must!  A headlamp is a good idea.  The floor can be slick so everyone needs to make sure they have boots that have good tread.
